1973 Sparkman & Stephens Allied 42' XL-2

Sparkman and Stephens X L-2 LOA 41`6" LWL 29` Beam 11`6" draft 4`2" Board up, 8`5" board down.
This is truly an exceptional yacht. Step on board and feel the pedigree of possibly the world`s finest yacht designers of the halcyon days of sail. Solid, and we mean solid GRP, she is built not only sail the World's Oceans, but to do it looking like a proper yacht. Many yachts of this era are uncomfortable and have little in the way of livability. Not so this beautiful vessel, she has plenty of room and storage galore. Top all this with a brand new Yanmar 4jh5e, and a new mast and rig built an installed by John Sayer in 2006. She has been very well maintained and the only remaining job is to sand and varnish the floor. Simrad electronics are fitted, and she has a spinnaker and staysail. Barient winches in the cockpit and an Andersen 40 ST 2 speed for the halyards. A Maxwell electric windlass takes care of the anchor and 100m of chain. Two solar panels mounted on the bimini supple enough power to run the ship and a Simrad AP16 autopilot will steer her if you can drag yourself away from the wheel. Accommodation is a large double to starboard aft, two pilot berths in the saloon and a vee double in the bow. A very useable bathroom, large nav area, and well thought out galley with spirit stove completes the layout down below. Asking $99,500.00
